Adapting big brands into multi-platform digital content is one of her most notable areas of expertise. She is currently adapting and Executive Producing Robert Kirkman’s highly anticipated series based on his comic book, Invincible for Amazon as well as Summoners War a massive game (100+ million players) for C2 in Korea. In the kids’ space she adapted and produced Robert Kirkman’s Super Dinosaur into an animated series and game. Building a studio and team, she produced The Angry Birds Movie, based off the hugely successful game and is Executive Producer on The Angry Birds Movie 2. Another incredible career challenge was adapting the Star Wars franchise. Working with George Lucas directly, she oversaw the development and produced the first animated Star Wars movie and highly rated animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
She is a board member of the Vancouver Economic Commission. She is also an author of the industry handbook “Producing Animation” for Focal Press. Prior to joining WSS he was at Creative Director for one of Canada’s top creative agencies. He got his start in visual effects at Rainmaker Digital Pictures working on shows such as Starge: SG-1 and feature films like I, Robot and Tropic Thunder.
Anastasia hails from Spruce Grove, Alberta, where her love of theatre helped push her to develop both on and off-stage productions, leading her to discover a passion for filmmaking. Ana enrolled at the Art Institute of Vancouver, and her commitment earned her spots as a director, editor, and producer for three graduating class projects and the ‘Best of Show’ award for her portfolio.
Ana began working as a producer and filmmaker for local Vancouver commercial companies, and then as a Production Manager on her first feature film, The Prodigal Dad, which premiered at the Whistler Film Festival in 2017. Most recently, Ana worked as the Post Production Coordinator on AMC and Skybound North’s Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics.
Serena Bickerstaff is our Production Coordinator/Office Administrator. She comes to us with a background in many different aspects of production having worked in roles such as Producer Assistant, Production Coordinator on such shows as ABC’s The Good Doctor, Prison break, Timeless and Charmed.
Serena is passionate about film making and excited to continue her journey as part of the WSS Team.
The film-makers behind such notable projects as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and Outcast, Robert Kirkman and David Alpert, are minority partners in the venture along with entrepreneur Jon Goldman (Greycroft Capital).
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 842 new members to join as they keep up their pledge to diversify their ranks including our very own CEO, Catherine Winder. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries.

My Singing Monsters was the star of the show at PlayMonster and Commonwealth booths. The former had a Furcorn mascot greeting guests as they entered the conference with a sneak peek at upcoming figurines. The latter showcased the “cute” and cuddly plushes that were released in later 2018.

A special animated short film has been released by Com2uS to celebrate the apps 100 million downloads. This exciting adventure shows two key summoners, Durand and Morgana, on their quest to find a jewel. These key characters were joined by beloved monsters, Akia and Bernard, and the newly introduced, mech-suit controlling, Batu.
The film was so well received, that it reached over 3 million views within the first month!

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (The Canadian Academy) has just announced the nominees in 135 film, television, and digital content categories for the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards.
We have the exciting announcement that Super Dinosaur has been nominated in two categories! William Lau for Best Direction in an Animated Series and Miguel Nunes for Best Sound in Animation. This is William’s first nomination for the Canadian Screen Awards and Miguel’s second, having first been nominated for Sound Editing for horror film The Unseen (2016). Super Dinosaur is based on Robert Kirkman and Jason Howard’s book, Executive Produced by Robert Kirkman, Catherine Winder and Dave Alpert, Produced by Kylie Ellis, and Coordinated by Kerry Harrington

The upcoming animated television adaptation of Summoners War has attached Chris “Doc” Wyatt and Kevin Burke as writers and producers. This extension joins the 50 pieces of online content and the upcoming February 11th, 2019 YouTube release of the Summoners War Short.
Doc and Kevin are no strangers to Wind Sun Sky, having integral roles in the adapted animated series, Super Dinosaur, produced by Wind Sun Sky’s Kylie Ellis. Other credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Iron Man: Armored Adventures and the upcoming Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters.

The Canadian Media Producers’ Association’s Annual Prime Time in Ottawa Conference closed on February 1st, 2019.
Our CEO, Catherine Winder, spoke at her closing keynote, “Finding Your IP Within Your IP; Building Franchises” on January 31st. Her keynote was hosted by Moyra Rodger, Founder and CEO of Magnify Digital. Key take aways from Catherine’s keynote included creating a franchise plan, creating strong partnerships, taking risks in adapting an IP.

Wind Sun Sky’s adult animated series, Invincible, has set its star-studded cast!
Leading the cast for this upcoming Amazon series is Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), as the titular character Invincible, and J.K. Simmons (Counterpart) as his extra-terrestrial superhero father, Omni-Man. Additional voice talents include Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder, among others yet to be announced.
Our CEO, Catherine Winder has been announced as a keynote speaker for the Canadian Media Producers Association’s annual Prime Time in Ottawa Conference.
The CMPA’s Prime Time in Ottawa conference is a national networking event for some 600 of Canada’s most prominent business leaders from the feature film, television, interactive media, broadcasting and telecommunications industries. The 2019 conference will be held from January 30th-February 1st.

Big news for Summoners out there!
We are thrilled to announce our part in the Summoners War expansion creative process, from 2D character development to 3D animation.
During the Summoners War World Arena Championship 2018 (SWC 2018) parent company Com2uS released a teaser for the upcoming Summoners War Animated Short. This short gives fans a behind the scenes peek at what goes into adapting a beloved IP into animation.
Summoners War is the flagship mobile RPG developed by Com2us. Launched globally in 2014, the game has ranked #1 grossing in RPG games in 108 countries (App Store) and in 96 countries (Google Play). Summoners War features over 1,000 unique characters and provides a premium mobile RPG experience gamers are able to enjoy anytime and anywhere.

We are excited to announce the premiere of Super Dinosaur on September 8th, 2018 as a part of Canadian network Teletoon’s fall lineup. This 26 episode television series was created in partnership with Spin Master.

Commonwealth toys are known for their ever growing line of licenses including Angry Birds, Sponge Bob, and PAW Patrol among many others. We will be working to produce a complete line of plush toys from the hit game My Singing Monsters. The first characters will be rolled out in time for the 2018 holiday season and will be available through e-commerce and select retailers.
FanWraps is a graphics and accessories company that specializes in creating high performance outdoor vehicle wraps. They are most known for their Star Wars and Fallout lines. We will be creating a line of automotive products, home décor, collectibles and electronic accessories based off of the My Singing Monsters characters. These accessories are expected to debut in late 2018.
From page to screen, we are excited to announce our involvement in bringing ‘Invincible’ to life!
The ‘Invincible’ comic series created by Skybound’s Robert Kirkman has been greenlit for 8 hourlong episodes by Amazon Studios.
Invincible is an adult superhero show that revolves around Mark Grayson, a normal teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. Shortly after his seventeenth birthday, Mark begins to develop powers of his own and enters into his father’s tutelage.
The program will initially include collectible merchandise, toys and lifestyle products based on the characters, their island habitats and their creative musical abilities.
